4 Common Hair Problems. Solved!

Hey everyone,

Hair of all types and textures are being celebrated every day. But women still have a love-hate relationship with their locks. It is definitely a major confidence killer. Yes, we should all accept ourselves as is — flaws and all — but that doesn’t mean we have to accept certain hair woes when, with the right products and the right techniques, we can help it reach our best hair day every day.

Cowlicks

When you have a cowlick, you can choose to fight it or embrace it. I always suggest the latter and think it’s best to embrace your cowlick as best you can. To do this, you should get a haircut that complements the shape of the cowlick, this way it will become part of your overall style. Also, having longer hair is better for a cowlick because it helps weigh it down, which is how I have my hair as I personally have a cowlick.

Baby Fine Hair

Baby fine and fragile hair can sometimes be difficult to style. Maybe add dry shampoo to the roots to add volume and texture. The dry shampoo will also boost thickness at the roots.

Split Ends

Outside of rushing out the door hairstyles or getting it trimmed, put down the blow dryer and heat tools to stave off further damage. Salon treatments are saviours that can help temporarily fuse frayed ends. Also, using a little coconut oil can help replenish strands. You should also have your hair cuts regularly to reduce split ends.

Frizz

If you have curly hair, what you do to your hair while it’s wet goes a long way in helping to eliminate frizz. While hair is wet, use a cotton T-shirt or microfiber towel to scrunch dry. Do not disturb the curl pattern. Scrunch in a textured moose and use a diffuse or let air-dry. Also, Finishing creams and leave-in conditioners help seal the hair follicle and are a godsend when combating frizz.
