The thing one that pops in my mind is a good lip balm. It’s really a necessity during the cold seasons as my lips always split so badly and they get so painful! And secondly maybe a really good body lotion? My skin can get really dry, even though I do have oily skin, so a lotion is essential for me.

What shoes do you tend to wear most in the winter?
Boots! Tall or short boots. Especially with fluffy insoles, they are so warm and comfy its like fluffy socks everyday. I could be dressed like that all year-long and not get bored! But maybe to warm...


What is your favorite winter accessory?

I'm not a fan of accessory's really but I love blanket scarfs so much!

Favourite Winter Candle?

Yankee Candle Christmas eve. No question about it.

Favourite Christmas/Holiday song?

I love the classics, frosty the snow man and a bit of Mariah Carey for me! And you can't forget WHAM!


Favourite Christmas/Holiday movie?

I love too many Christmas movies, but The Holiday makes me always in a good mood. I love watching a princess for Christmas and cute movies like that.

If you were to ask Santa for one thing and you were guaranteed to get it, what would it be? 

Well, it depends on how much can I ask. Looking towards the future I’d ask for the money to move to US, get my degree in Material Science. Or being able to get whatever I really wish for if I work hard for it.
However, being more materialistic and maybe down to earth, I’ll simply ask for clothes and money to buy a few more things to help me with my blog, for example my camera broke...

Hey everyone, 

Today I'm going to be talking about studying and more importantly ways to study effectively. These are things I use while studying Physics, Chemistry and maths but they're all open to your own personal interpretation.

The first thing I usually do is create a study space at home. I don't usually set up my revision station in bed. The temptation to curl up and fall asleep or go onto netflix is high. Some might benefit not studying at home but to go to the library or a local cafe.

Before you start, I make sure I've gone to the toilet, have all the books I need, I also grab drinks and some healthy snacks ( I'll be making another post soon ). I sometimes put fluffy socks on as well. They're helpful I promise.

Flashcards

I’m a great fan of flash cards. Keeping them simple and the information on them short is the key to success with them though. Just note the key points rather than endless paragraphs. They are great to take out and about with you so you can revise on the bus or train home. But if you just have to much information to remember and carry with you ( I'd need suitcases) I use an app on my phone called Flashcards + it's great and very easy to use.

Test Friends

I personally revise better on my own as I talk to myself and mutter a lot of nonsense but I know for a lot of people it can be better to revise with friends or partners. You can test each other and if one understands things better can usually explain better than a teacher as they know how you learn.

Revision Planner

I didn’t do a revision planner when I did my GCSEs. I’m now using a revision planner for my A-level exams and it is making a great difference. Splitting up the topics I need to revise within each subject and having set areas to cover and certain time frames in which to study them in. Without planning it can be very easy to focus too much in one area or subject and you may miss some important information or forget to revise other subjects.

Apps

I have already touched on this but Apps! They're incredible and help me stay so organised and focused. I love Forest, Flashcards + and My study life. Just seach a few up, just try not to go crazy, it's easy to get sucked into all the apps and not actually getting any work done.


Pretend you’re Teaching

This is a technique I love to do. I personally teach my dad and talk him through things. It's great because he responds and asks me really good questions some are super simple but they make me stop and think. Sometimes if he's busy I'll teach a bear or even talk to boyfriend over FaceTime and bore him to death about Physics. 


Past papers

I’m not a huge fan of past papers. I hate exams as it is but at least with these you don't have to stress about them and you can see question styles and what not. It is also gives you an opportunity to see how the exam is likely to be set out and the kind of detail you need to put into your answers

Reward yourself!

Take a break, but in those breaks do something that is completely away from studying. Go for a walk, have a Facebook binge, listen to some music, I'd advise against watching your favourite programme as you can get hooked into the 'Next Episode' button so quickly it's untrue ( experience talking there ). 
Other tips

EXTRAS

Read a whole chapter before you decide you don't get it. Something might start off as really hard and confusing and you can get worked up about it but it might well be explained by the end of the chapter.

Don’t spend time revising what you already know. You know it! So try something that you find that bit harder.

Don’t try and get through a whole physics text book in one day! Spend an hour on physics, then maybe after a break sometime on geography, etc.

Try not to worry too much about the exams. Yes, they are important but I doubt that will cause the end of the world if you don’t pass!

I found this floating around the internet and decided to jump on the bandwagon. I'm not completely sure where this tag came from but credit where credits due to whoever did create this. I personally got the questions off Makeup savvy. All the questions will be at the end of the post if you would like to answer them yourself!




1. What signifies the start of Autumn for you?


2. What is your favourite Fall scent?

It is the first book in a trilogy exploring the world of children born with strange and wonderful gifts. Such as an invisible boy, a levitating girl, twins with unimaginable strength and a girl who can conjure up fire.

Because common folk cannot understand these peculiars, and what is not understood is often feared, the children live apart. Their well-being is overseen by a shape shifting woman, Miss Peregrine, who is also called a ymbryne as she could turn into a bird and as such was a time keeper.

Jacob is our main character, a sixteen year old American boy who has always struggled to fit in amongst his peers. When a family tragedy sends him into a spiral of anxiety and recurring nightmares his psychiatrist suggests it may be helpful if he travelled to a remote island off the coast of Wales where his grandfather lived as a child. 

Jacob’s grandfather raised him on a diet of weird and peculiar stories which he claimed were true yet Jacob came to the conclusion they were just stories to scare him. They were about children who could not exist, who lived together on this island in a beautiful house. They were threatened by the monsters.

When Jacob sets out to uncover the facts around his grandfather’s early life he finds only a ruin where the children’s home used to be. He looks for clues amongst the broken home, asking questions of the locals. He discovers more than he bargained for, but he must then make a choice, just as his grandfather did so years before.

The writing remains light despite the horrific occurrences threatening the peculiar children’s way of life. Jacob and his new friends from old stories must battle forces intent on their demise whilst keeping their existence hidden from the common people living alongside. Their enemies are known to hide in plain sight yet cannot be seen by the peculiar except by their shadows.

Although containing many of the familiar elements in a young adult fantasy, there is much offbeat humour downplaying the fear and poignancy.
Within the narrative are scattered authentic vintage photographs depicting many of the characters. These provide a wonderful addition to the surreal feel and were definitely one of my favourite additions to the book making it very unique. The disturbing Santa pictures you have to see.
